Just a quick update. I planned on doing a trip report of Masters/Peru and everything else but have been lazy and Black Friday threw me off a good bit. They both were amazing experiences though and I would recommended anyone to go to both. RE: Black Friday:I think it is joke how the DOJ went about doing this knowing it would be harmful to many Americans who were breaking no laws. I think it's only a matter of time before we have regulated poker in the United States.

I really didn't play too much more in April after getting home from Peru, I wanted to wait and see how things played out and also had to get accounts set up and funded on Bodog/Carbon and Cake. It was really nice for PokerStars to Pay out Americans so quickly. They are the premiere site in the World AINEC. The Full Tilt Poker situation is disgusting and reflects very very poorly on how their company is/was run. Since black Friday, I was never optimistic at all about receiving the money I had on UB/AP, That was a risk I knowing took in order to make more money for myself and my family. I was very lucky to only have $3,000 on the site, the lowest amount I ever had on the site.

I spent the past two weekends out of town on mini vacations. We went to Louisville, KY for some friends 30 birthday party which was awesome. We went to Churchill Downs which was really cool, betting on horses was great fun. This past weekend we went to Hilton Head Island for 3 days which was fun. My son Noah loved the beach, I took some videos and stuff but haven't uploaded them or anything but may add them when I get back from Vegas.

I am heading to Vegas on the Friday the 3rd of June and staying for 9 days. I plan on playing 6 tournaments. I got lucky to be able to stay in a sick house for most of my stay with some really cool ppl. After that, one of my good friends and my dad is coming out for the weekend which I will spend relaxing and parting. Hopefully I will get some good pics to for my next post.

I am also planning on playing the WSOP Main Event f I can sell enough action. I have 27% reserved and put up a thread today in order to sell the rest. Check my thread to reserve action.

Masters and Peru!!

Just a quick update since it has been a while. Well the title says it all, Usually this time of the year I am super pumped about The Masters and golfing myself. This year is no different except I am getting a chance to go the Masters on Friday! I am excited to say the least, it should be a great experience. A friend of my dads has been waiting for tickets for years and finally got them for all 4 rounds. He was nice enough to give my dad 2 tickets for round 2.

I also shipped a seat to The Latin American Poker Tour Main Event in Peru last month! I won it off a satty on PokerStars that cost me 20,000 fpp. My wife and I are leaving next Wednesday and returning home on the following Monday. It should be another great experience.

I Haven't posted in a while so thought I would type my thoughts. This year hasn't gone that great really. I have depended on MTTs for income way to much mainly because I was/am in a situation where I can do that. The past month and a half have just been brutal. No idea how many 6ths - 20th place finishes I have but it is pretty absurd. It is stretches just like I am going through that make wining players go through the stupidest downswings in MTTs. It is also the reason that most MTT grinders aren't properly rolled for the stakes that they play and so many are backed.

Here is the damage since Feb 1st, Keep in mind that on Sundays the tourneys have bigger fields and the stakes are higher so a good chunk of this damage is from Sundays. Red Line is overall (click to see it)

I have been studying more than ever to try to break the trend. I have actually have had more chances at great scores than ever while going through this downswing but you cant win money when you fail to get top 3's in tourneys. I do sell a good chunk of my action so its not like I lost 25k or anything. I also play cash games and SNGs and do well in those formats.

I think I am going to keep playing the tourneys as long as my investors continue to have confidence in me. I definitely think I give them a fair price but I have just ran horrendous and unfortunately I have lost a good chunk of their money(and my own!). I think many of them have watched me play enough and have seen so many of the coolers and beats for tons of equity that they still think I am a good investment( and I agree). I am hoping to sell some action for some WSOP events and have also decided that I want to play the main event as well, so hopefully this downswing doesnt affect Investors who buy Live action. It definaetly won't help for the ones who rely primarly on online MTT stats when making their decision :( . Hopefully it won't be an issue anyway after this heater I am going to catch soon.

I have decided to make it a point to reach Supernova on Stars and possibly go for 200k VPPs this year. Stars is the best site imo and I would love the opportunity to represent them someday. First, I got to give them reason to want me to represent them lol. I will probably just mass table SNGs in order to reach my VPP goal but who knows. If I knew being Supernova Elite would lead to some sort of sponsorship I would probably do that.

My little boy is doing great. He makes me so happy no matter what happens in poker.

I really don't know where to even start with this entry. This year has been amazing to say the least. Probably the best year of my life for many reasons. Its official, I am Dad and it is the most rewarding thing in the world. He came 3 weeks early so was born a tiny 5 lbs 7 ozs. He is now 4 months old and 15 lbs, growing like a weed! No matter what kinda of poker day I have, It is trivial and spending time with Noah always makes me happy.

Poker:

It has been very good to me this year. I beat Cash games, SNGs and MTTs this year and made way more than I expected. I feel like I am much more comfortable with the swings that are involved and I feel very comfortable with were I am at. My bankroll has grown significantly and I usually play very over rolled in everything I play which makes the swings easy to handle. I am going on a little live poker trip in January to the Southern Poker Championships In Biloxi, MS next month which I am kinda excited for. The only thing is I am going be away from Noah and my wife for 6 days which will suck some. I think a few live poker trips a year will be good for Tax reasons and a nice break from grinding online all the time.

Summer/Vegas Trip Report

Hi all,

Sorry for the lack of updates. This summer has been great so far. I had 3 weeks Vacation, My baby in my wife's belly is healthy and growing, and Poker has been going great! I am getting excited about the baby, I know when he comes my life will change forever. I just hope to make him proud. I have a handful of pictures so I'm just going to post all those and comment on most of them.

This picture is from my Aunt and Uncles condo in Islamorada. It is really beautiful down there and the people are really cool and laid back. My Uncle warned me that the locals personality's are a bit different. It didn't take long to see what he was talking about. They basically tell you like it is. I found it amusing and have always respected people who say whats on there mind. The town/area is a drinking town with a fishing problem! A great place for retirement.

We went out to a reef to do some snorkeling which was really cool. After that we headed to a huge sand bar where everybody stands/floats in the water and drinks to stay cool. I love the clear water down there.

My wife and I took one day and drove down to Key West and explored everything. That was really cool because I haven't been there since I was a kid and had forgotten all the details of it.

Vegas Trip Report

About 2 days after getting home from the Keys, I was off to Vegas. My affiliate and Doyles Room ran a promotion which I ended up luck boxing for a free trip. My wife had to work after the Keys and was 6 months pregnant so obviously didn't go to Vegas with me so I took my dad. I was glad he went with me because he is always a good time to hang out with and he is my dad, lol. We flew out Friday morning and Checked into the Aria complements of poker-strategy.org and Doyles Room. This hotel was very nice. When I opened the guest room all the curtains and lights automatically opened/operated.The TV had all my room information on them and you could control anything in the rooms with the alarm clock or remote. We had a few hours to get some drinks and check the hotel out before the Limo for Dinner with Doyle was set to come. I told my dad that I wasn't sure where the dinner was going to be at but I thought he should just try to catch a ride in the limo and hang out in the casino where the restaurant I was eating at until I was finished. When The Limo pulled up, we were greeted by a man named Will who is the president of Doylesroom and was very cool. I told him my dad would just ride along but he insisted that he come to dinner with us, ship!.

We arrived at N9ne steakhouse at the Palms and I started seeing the people who I would be eating dinner with. Hoyt Corkins, Pam Brunson, Zachary Clark(CrazyZach), Amit Makhija(Amak316), and Dani Stern(Ansky) were all there. Doyle and Todd were not there yet, I think they were still at the Rio busy. It was pretty unreal, everybody at the table was very talkative and friendly. I wasn't really sure who all would be at the dinner but there was probably about 14 people total at the table[I sat in the middle :)]. I think there were 3 people like myself who had won the dinner. The food and service was amazing, the Brunsons knew the cooks so they just started bringing out a surplus of appetizers.

Shortly after Doyle arrived and I got to say hi and shake his hand which was cool. The diner wasn't rushed or anything at all, we probably sat there, talked, and drank/ate for close to 3 hours. We all had many drinks and some great cuts of meat. Todd showed up kinda after we started eating. He was playing a WSOP event and had actually just busted, the cooks rushed him out some fresh appetizers and a huge steak. All in all, the Dinner with Doyle was a once in a lifetime opportunity and I was honored to be there.

I played in a $1000 WSOP event on Sunday and busted after about 7 hours. I was on 2 different tables during the 7 hours and they both were pretty tough tables for a 1k event. Notable hand, Very aggro player opens late position and I reshipped about 24 big blinds with AQs from SB. The only fish at my table was in BB and called putting himself allin. I figured he had me crushed or something and was shocked when turned over 66. I guess he had been card dead and wanted to gamble, definitely and awful spot for him though. I bricked and was left with 400 chips at 75/150. I think I won my next 4/5 allins and ended up lasting a couple more hours somehow.

The next day(Monday) I played a Venetian $350 tourney with 860 runners in it. I played for around 11 hours before getting in QQ vs AA to money bubble. So that kinda sucked but I knew I played very well. I decided that was it for me and live mtt tourneys on my Vegas trip. I would just rather grind the WSOP satellites or play the juicy cash games instead.

I was also able to meet a few online friends in Vegas which was huge. It was nice putting some faces to some names. They were all really cool and I hope to see them all again someday.

I am pretty sure this is my longest blog post ever so if you read all of it, congrats!

I'm on there. It seems way easier than blogging for me. I am still going to blog monthly or so but I should be tweeting a few times a week. I am going to be putting together a blog in the next day or two about my trip to Vegas and other things.

Yup Yup Yup..my life for the next 2/3 weeks

Sorry for lack of updates. April was a great month but May hasn't been to kind to me. I won a small mtt this month for $2100, Even though it was the smallest cash I ever had for a mtt win, it probably felt better than any because I was able to own the final table due to my chip stack and table position. I played mostly sngs all month, I ran bad overall but am really happy about the way I played. I think I have improved a bit in the past couple months from studying and watching videos. Thanks to the guys who make videos, :).

I am taking a few weeks off for vacations. I am going on an annual fishing trip to my Dad's spot in Mexico Beach, FL tomorrow. I better not see any f'n oil. That is really frustrating that something like that could happen and it is going to take months(hopefully) to fix the huge Oil leak that is killing animals and damaging the earth. After I get back from the gulf, My wife and I are going to the Florida Keys for a week with my aunt and uncle, I am really looking forward to this trip. It will probably be mostly relaxing and enjoying the time off. Hopefully I will catch some fish(will post pics brag pics if worthy). I just found out yesterday that my trip to Vegas to meet Doyle will be the weekend of June 11-13th. I got kinda short notice but luckily that weekend is open since we should get back from the Keys a day or two before. I am not sure if I am taking a friend, my wife, dad, brother or just going by myself and meeting up with 2+2ers out there. I will probably stay an extra 2 days or so and play a smaller WSOP event and maybe another tourney or something.

Poker has been great lately. I ended up having a very solid month in March despite having a 5k downswing in sngs. I planned on paying more rake than I ever have in a month. I'm not really sure if I did but it had to be close. I played 1402 sngs and 44k hands of cash. I am still learning cash but feel like I'm improving.

I haven't played that much in April but have started out very good. My affiliate Poker-strategy.org did a promotion with Doyle's Room which ended with a 20 man sng with the winner getting a trip to Vegas and Dinner with Doyle Brunson himself. It ran Saturday night and I shipped it! I am pretty excited to get to meet Doyle this summer. Shortly after the 2003 WSOP(moneymaker/ESPN), is when I started getting interested in poker and also when I first started playing some online. I got Super System and after reading it,I instantly had and tremendous amount of respect for Doyle. He is a Legend. If you are planning on going to Vegas this summer leave me a message, I'd like to meet some of the people I know from online while I am out there. I think I am going to be out there from June 24th - June 29th probably and am thinking about playing Event 45 on the 25th($1500 nlhe), I might also play another smaller tourney and will def play some cash games.

I'm really excited about baseball starting. The Braves are my favorite team and they are no doubt much better than they have been in years. They loaded up since it is Bobby Cox last year managing. Jason Heyward is probably the most talked about rookie that I have heard of in years. It was pretty sick how he started his career. I should have went that day but all my friends were working. I think the division is going to be close between the Braves and the Phillies this year, The wild card will most likely be won by one of them.

Big News..

I am going to a father! The due date is Sept 19th. I have known for a couple months but wanted to wait a little while before telling everybody to make sure everything was good. I am looking forward to fatherhood but also don't know what I am getting into to. I think having a kid is pretty amazing and will be very life changing. It is a bit intimidating, but I know we will be just fine. We have been into the doctor for 2 ultrasounds. It is pretty surreal to hear your baby's heart beat for the first time. We will find out the sex of the baby in about 5 weeks when we go back for the last ultrasound.

I sold my 03 Suburban finally on Monday and have been looking for cars all week. I found a pretty good deal on a sick car and I am going to get it today! It is a 2007 Infiniti G35 Sport 4 door(obv). I went to testdrive it Tuesday night and was blown away. This car is going to be a blast to drive. It is costing me about 3k more than I planned on spending but I think the upgrades between this car and the 05/06 G35 will be worth the extra dough.

I had a rough week of poker. Everyone ran hot vs me which is going to happen from time to time. I lost about $2700 this week. Hopefully I can get half of that back this weekend in some soft games. I am still having a good month and should make at least 10k if I quit getting crushed constantly.

I went out last night and had a good time. I had the hangover to prove it this morning. So basically I was stuck on the couch until 1.30 which was when my first tourneys started. Just finished up the day getting a 3rd in $55 freeze out which made it a good day. It was on a smaller site but still gave a nice return of $1600. I also played the Sunday warm up, the Sunday Brawl, the 200k on AP and probably 5/6 smaller buy in tourneys today.I was able to get in 36 sngs(+$420) too since I was grinding mtts all day.

Just hoping to keep the good month rolling and get some good volume in this week.

Oh I played about 200 of the HU superturbos this week. I was doing great and then lost about $500 in a half hour yesterday. They are def fun

Didn't get much volume in because I went to The PGA store. I needed some new golf shoes and just wanted to get out of the house for a while. It was a beautiful day, I wish I would have went golfing but most of my golf buddies had to work. I got some sick golf shoes.

Long Weekend...New Month

I had a sick 5k+ downer to end Feb but made a lot off RB and bonuses so still ended up having a decent month. I played 95% sngs tourneys all month in Feb but have decided to go back and play cash and sngs this month. I plan to pay more rake this month than I ever have, well see if I can stick to it.

My wife was out of town so I decided to play a lot and this weekend. I played probably 5/6 good mtt tourneys today but had no luck. I made a final table on the smallest tourney I played but went out 9th :(.

Big Sunday

I plan on playing some mtt today and a good bit of sngs. Hopefully I can run good deep in a mtt and have a nice score. I am defiantly playing the Sunday million since stars is making it bigger than ever. I will probably just look for another 4/5 good mtt to play as well on various sites and then grind sngs on a few tables at a time. edit: will be playing ftops at 2 est as well.

I added $236 Turbos and $220 regular speed sngs into the games I am willing to play. It kinda sucks because you have to really watch the lobbys closer and games don't run as much which means daily results will be greatly affected by the small sample of higher buyin games that I play. I think in the long run it is def going to make me more money though considering the RB and raising my avg buy in. We shall see tho.

I having a pretty decent month so far, I'm just hoping to close it out with some solid results and and possibly make 10k or something this month(w/ rb).

I might start doing shorter blog entries and updating more often but not sure.

I am feeling much better since all my dizzy problems. It turned out that I was having anxiety attacks. I am going to taking a medication for probably a year(9 more months) and hopefully I will be able to get off it. Going through that was pretty scary and it really made me appreciate health/life more than I did. I am planing on becoming more active in order to stay in shape better in the future. I think we are going to gets some mountain bikes soon and I am considering getting a treadmill or joining the local gym down the street.

2009 was a pretty good year for me but I did fall short on my profit goal but it doesn't bother me because I know I improved a lot. After Halloween, I spent a lot of time playing/learning cash games which have made me a more of a complete player. It is nice to be able to play different forms of poker now because I sacrificed some profits in order to get better for my future.

We did a lot of upgrading around the house/office this month. We repainted the dining, living room and kitchen and added some accessories. Luckily, we had a friend help us, so it looks good. I also upgraded my poker setup with a new quad core cpu, a 30" monitor, an aeron chair, and a huge corner desk. I try to post some pics of the setup soon. Hopefully I can get another 30" sometime this year but it really inst needed right now with the 24" and the 30".

I am really looking forward to this year and I am off to a great start. I just had my biggest month ever!, hence all the spending above. Hopefully I can have a couple more great months like this one and just grind a lot and end up having a sick year. I ran very hot this month in sngs and put in a good grind playing cash games. I played a ton so bonuses and rakeback were great as well.

Here is my sng graph. As you can see I didn't play that many sngs but ran very good. 454 games, avg buyin $74.50, all 6 max.. sustainable???

I really hope to have some mtt success this year but right now my schedule really doesn't allow me to play them very often. Sorry for lack of updates if anybody actually reads this. Until next time.....

I am feeling much better these days. I have been learning cash games for the past 2 months or so with decent success.I am still playing sngs too. I have been pretty lazy as far as updating this blog. I plan on doing a full update soon.

Not Feeling Great (kinda long)

I randomly got very dizzy last Friday. I was just sitting in my chair and my head started to spin. I walked around the house nervously wondering wtf was going on. I then sat down on the couch as I could barely walk at this point. My vision was going out and I was a close as you can get to blacking out. Fortunately my wife was home at the time, I went from feeling weird to telling my wife to call an ambulance in a 5 minutes period. She helped me get to her car, as soon as I sat in the car my vision came back and the dizziness subsided a bit. I went to the urgent care center for some testing. They took my blood, did an EKG, and gave me an IV to ensure my fluid levels were up. All the test looked fine. They came to the conclusion that my blood sugar level was slightly higher than normal and that I was dehydrated. I found this hard to believe because I constantly drink water and when leaving the center my head was still hurting. They recommended I change my diet and gave me no medicine besides a pill for dizziness at the clinic. I probably should eat breakfast every morning and plan on doing that but generally my diet isn't bad at all.

I went home exhausted and still felt awful. My head remained feeling heavy and I still had a feeling of dizziness. Saturday, I still didn't feel good. Looking at my cpu screen intensified the pain/dizziness so I basically didn't play any poker and decided not to play until I started feeling better. I drank a lot of water and took it easy during the day and then went to a social gathering and actually drank a few beers(hindsight: probably bad idea) on Sat night. I actually felt decent after a few beers so I figured I may be getting better although I still had a heavy head.

I woke Sunday morning and I still didn't feel like myself but figured I would try to play some games and hope for the best. About an hour into my session I had another extreme dizzy spell. I couldn't focus on the screen clearly, I had to lay back in my chair closing my eyes and then re opening them to make a play or whatever. I didn't want to move, I was very cold. I had about $700 in buyins on the table so I really didn't want to just quit so I basically laid in my chair and played awful donking off my stacks. I struggled for about 45 minutes before all the games were finally over. I made my way to the couch and went to sleep. My energy levels were gone.

I was obviously going to see my doctor on Monday for more testing or w/e. He determined that I had sinus infection(s) and gave me an antibiotic and 2 other types of pills to take. I still felt awful but was optimistic that he knew wtf he was talking about and I would be on the road to recovery.
Over the next few days I still had a headache, low energy levels and but no serious dizzy spells which was encouraging.

Yesterday I went to the eye doctor because over the past year or so I have gotten headaches on a normal basis after working long sessions. My vision was pretty good(20/30) but he determined I had a astigmatism in both eyes which was causing me(my eyes) to constantly strain in order to see clearly. So I got a pair of glasses ordered which should be helpful while working. I am not sure if I will end up wearing them on a normal basis(besides working), I'll just have to see(no pun intended) if they make everyday life easier. Anyway, my dad took me to the eye doctor and in the car I started getting dizzy again. I was able to get through the eye exam and actually think the doctor dilating my eyes helped the dizziness a bit.

I came home and took it easy some more. Last night, my brother called me to check on me and said he was going to stop by because he was in the area. I had another dizzy spell before he got here and I could barely move when he got here. My dad called my bro to see how I was doing and he told him I didn't look so good. I guess my dad decide I needed to go to hospital because he showed up at my house like 15 minutes later. So last night I went to the ER in order to try to get more testing and get to the bottom of it. They took blood and gave me a CAT scan. All the test came back negative which was a relief. I was worried about all kinds of things that could have been wrong with me. The CAT scan showed that I had no sinus infections and that my head was looking good. The ER doctor said there are tons are viruses going around(not just the flu/n1h1) and that I most likely had one of them. He said that there really is nothing to take to fight it but my body should be able to fight it off in 2/3 weeks. He gave me some pills for the dizziness.

I am basically not going to play much poker until I get feeling better. I am suppose to be going to Vegas for Halloween weekend. If I don't have a great turn around before Friday then I wont be going which sucks.

Epic Comeback for the Braves One time?

The Braves are on fire right now, I just hope it isn't too late. They have won like 13 of there last 15 games or something ridiculous. The whole year I was waiting on them to have stretch like this but it never happened. About 3 weeks I changed my avatar on 2+2 to the "A" knowing that if they would have any chance at a playoff spot then running hot was essential. Shortly after that they lost like 5 out of 7 and looked to be out of it in the standings. I would be lying if I told you I didn't kinda write them off. The whole season was kinda tilting because I believed there pitching/hitting/and defense to be pretty solid. Anyway, they are 2.5 games behind the Rockies in the NL wild card standings. We have a favorable schedule to close out the season, they just need to win every day imo. The Rockies play the Brewers and then the Dodgers to close out the season. The Braves also got manager Bobby Cox to agree to manage one more year and remain as a consultant for 5 years to follow. Cox has had a legendary career. I will hate to see him go after next session but all good things must come to an end.

In other sporting news, the Falcons have started off great(2-0) but have to play the Pats today in Foxborough. Hopefully it will be a good game but I think we may have some match up problems in this game. The Dawgs are looking decent this year also. They pulled out a last second field goal to win the game last night in Athens. I am just hoping we can keep rolling in the SEC and have a chance at beating Florida(not easy I know). A.J Green may be the best collegiate WR I have ever witnessed. The guy is just a beast on the field and consistently makes tough catches look easy.

I have been back playing on my own for 3 months pretty much. It has been going great really. July and August were my 2 most profitable months ever. In August I won a $75 MTT tourney which was my biggest score ever. A friend messaged me before the tourney started asking if I was interested in playing it. I wouldn't have even played it or other mtts that day if not for him. He had half my action in the tourney I won. This month has been frustrating due to running/flipping bad. I had a stretch of 8 days in a row of losing money. I am basically about at 0 in profit for the month at this point. My volume this month has been great(for me) so my RB/Bonuses should be around $3k minimum. Hopefully I can make $2/3k in the next 4 days in order to end up with a good month. I started playing $119 sngs again last month which has really helped in RB department. ^^^^^^^^ That really isn't a complaint about this month at all, More of anything I just want readers to understand what kind of swings happen. If somebody told me on July 1st that I was going to make as much money as I have in these past 3 month I would be very pleased.

I have sacrificed a good portion of my playing time in order to focus on business ventures. My good buddy and business partner Andyh26 and I are launching a poker affiliate website in the near future. We are also trying to get a stable of grinders to stake for SNGs. I started a thread and we are currently taking applications. Hopefully between the 2 sides of our business ventures we can create a profitable business for years to come.

Update and Looking Ahead

I ended up having a very solid month. I have made more profit in a month when I played my stake but personally it was the most $ I have made in a month. July's heater came at a great time for me. Hopefully I can keep it going, I just gotta grind. My volume this month has been very slack so I need to pick it up. My heater has actually continued this month up until this point which is good because I have only played 465 games so far. I am on track to set a new personal profit record this month but I just got to get the games in. I took 4 days off to play golf and go visit friends in Wilmington, NC. We had a great time and the short break away from poker was very nice.

Back on Track

I started working for myself again at the beginning of July and so far so good. I am having a very solid month considering the stakes I am playing and hope to keep it rolling. I basically spread out my bankroll on a few different sites which allows me to table select and try to find the most profitable games for myself. My volume on FTP has been significantly decreased due to game selection and also some software issues that they forced onto there player base. I expect FTP to get everything worked out shortly so my volume will probably increase on there site. I don't wanna jinx myself but I may end up with my most profitable month I have had playing Poker. I was kinda due for a nice heater after running terrible for such a rough stretch. I'll probably do another blog entry after July is over. Until next time..

Thread that lead to video

I have really been slacking on this blog. Sorry to anyone that actually reads it. I have basically continued to run awful on ftp and really haven't had anything fun to blog about. I got hit hard in April by my taxes clearling out most of my extra money I keep in the bank for rough strecthes and then continued to run like dirt. I haven't been actually making money on ftp because I ran so bad and rakeback/bonus isn't covering my losses. So its been a tough couple of months, I had to reach into my bankroll some to cover expenses, bills, etc. Dipping into my Bankroll will force me to play a little lower than I had planned when I go back to playing for myself next month. Below is a graph that should show how awful I ran. The red-line in HEM gets a lot of conversation on the forums and stuff and to be honest I am not sure if i understand it completly. From what I understand the red line shows your allin equity, nothing more. It doesnt show how much I should have won, it shows what I would have won if my allins evened out mathmatically. I also believe that most winning players will win more then where there red line is, this is my belief because winning sng players shove correctly and gain a lot of equity through fold equity(when the player I shove into folds). I may be slighty incorrect about this, If anybody who is knowledgeable about this subject stumbles upon this blog, please correct me if I am wrong. This graph shows my last 1600 $119 Sngs. I am basically -100 buyins(12k-14k) on allin -ev which is pretty awful considering the number of games. I dont think 100 buyins is really enough of a bank roll anymore if you play professionally. All I can hope is sometime down the road I run insanely hot above ev and it evens out. Asumming I play poker as long I plan to, it shouldn't be a problem. (click to enlarge)

My plan next month is to really try to get in more volume in order to replenish my bankroll and start rebuilding my bank accounts with money. I am going to play on 2/3 sites and try to table select games from $30-$70. I really want to start playing some mtt tournaments in the future. That will require me to change my schedule. I think changing my schedule would be great for my poker profitablity but there are more things involved than just my profits. My wife is back at school getting her masters so she will likely be at school 3 nights/week so I might try to work the 2nd shift during those 3 days and then work my normal hours on the other days.

One thing I am very grateful for is some of the people I have met through poker. It is nice to have freinds who understand variance and the actual shit that pokers players go through to talk with. Also, many people that I have met through poker have reached out to offer various ways they can help which means the world to me.

Quick Rant to Start................I have been kinda frustrated lately with some of the regs playing on ftp. I try to keep somewhat of a friendly relationship with all the other players because I respect their right to play poker and enjoy themselves. The thing that really annoys me is when a somebody who maybe plays daily and is a winning player takes a bad beat and starts insulting the player who sucked out on him. I see it everyday. The fact is everybody plays with their own money and it is their right to play however that want to play and not be insulted for it. I see players who have won $10k on the site berating a guy who is down 56k on the site. It is like they think there is endless flow of money coming into the games. Have you ever stopped and thought about the fact this guy you are cussing out,berating, and possibly embarrassing may just be rich and play for fun to enjoy himself? Do you think "fun" to him is getting berated? Right now the games are as tough as they have been in a while and yet some winnings players still feel the need to talk shit to a player who may or may not play as good as them. I will be first to admit, I have berated in the past but that is something that I regret and I will not do it again. If anything I will laugh at dumb regs , Just play the game. Be respectful to others. I wrote this on 4/24/09 after 2 days of seeing a lot of regs berating weaker players. I also played a lot of $39s this month on stars and noticed it on there often.

April is over and I had an awful month of grinding the games. I actually had my first losing month since I have played seriously. There are a few factors into why I lost. Mainly it was because I ran absolutely awful in the $119s on ftp. I basically only play $60's and $119's on ftp. I usually get around 1100 games a month on that site. Normally about 70% of these games are $119's but this month just over 50% were 119. This was because there were more regs than normal and many of them are ignorant when it comes to game selection so sometimes I would play 60's instead and let the regs swap money in the 119s. Its really not that hard to understand and look at the lobby and realize when a game isn't profitable.

This is a detailed entry about variance and table selection, I suggest all regular players to read it.

I basically ran very awful in the $119s and ran over 40 buyins below expectation in these 529 games. I'll spare you the ev charts and stuff but it is pretty gross. With rakeback and leaderboard bonus I should come to around even on FTP for the month. Making nothing in a month really doesn't work for me so I usually put in an hour or so a night play stars. I started stacking 10-15 tables and playing mostly $39s on Stars because playing any higher would require table selecting which is kinda annoying on stars if you don't really know who all the regular players are. They need to get some color coding system on there site like FTP has. I ran good in these games on stars and made a couple thousand and also cleared small reload bonus. So technically I still made decent money this month.

I got 2 more months of playing for jhub3000 and then its back on my own. I am not actually sure where I am going to play but I know I will most likely keep money on a few sites and table select the best I know how. I am pretty sure that I will still play on FTP but I am always going to look for the most profitable games/site available to me. I plan on playing more mtt and luckboxing one of those in the 2nd half of this year. Somebody got to do it, right? I started staking a lower limits player this month and have also spent much of my extra time trying to improve his game and help him make us some money. He has been playing 9 man sngs which has kinda forced me to review/study those which is good because I am learning myself as well. I think he is improving pretty quickly and will start to make money in the up coming months. I really haven't had any time to study/play cash games but that is definitely something I want to pick back up in the future. Hopefully this fall I will be in a situation to take on another player but time will tell.

I am heading out to Jacksonville in the morning for a weekend bachelor party which is going to be a blast and I think the break will be +ev life......until next time

Quick Spring Update....

I am really glad spring is here. I love playing golf and its time to start playing regularly again. I made some improvements last year playing and I am hoping that I can keep improving because I kinda suck. Hopefully I can get in some trout fishing this spring too. Also I get older this month (sigh), I'll be 29 in the middle of the month, I cant wait until next year so I can seriously feel old.

I had a pretty awful end to the month mostly due to just running bad. Luckily, I ran good to start the month off and ended up with a decent month. I played some cash games on occasion and have made a few improvements in that area. I definitely still have a lot to learn tho, It's hard not to get caught up with certain hands in tricky spots. I boxed a reg or two for stacks a few times which is always nice.

I may be getting into some coaching/staking type arrangements in the future. The player or players who would play for me would be low limit grinders to start. I don't have tons of money laying around to put into other players games so I figure I will have to start at the bottom and work my way up. I am not to interested in just coaching players for an hourly rate at this time because It really doesn't seem worth it to me. The games are getting tough enough as it is and most of the players who would ask for coaching are already mid level players who would quickly migrate into higher games. If I am going to help somebody, then I going to teach them as much as I can so therefore I think the staking deals are the best option for myself and the players hopefully.

I am off to a decent start of April even though I have not played much at all. Sometimes I lose my motivation to grind when the weather gets really nice like it has been. Hopefully I can get in some decent volume this week but it is going to be a short week. My wife and I are going to Savannah again for the weekend for another wedding. We are leaving on Thursday and returning on Sunday so that will be a nice break. Hopefully I will be able to get on the golf course one day this week as well. Until Next time.....

Feb is coming to a close and I am pretty much done playing for the month. I am pleased with this month for being a short month, I played a lot(for me anyway) and also learned some of the basics about playing online cash games. I ran kinda bunk towards the middle of the month but I had a solid week to close out the month.

My wife and I are going to Savannah for the weekend. One of her good friends is getting married there so it should be a good time. Savannah is a great town with tons of attractions, restaurants and bars. I use to make it a point to go down every St Patricks Day which is one of the biggest celebrations in the world but I haven't been in a few years. I have spent months worth of time in New Orleans but I still prefer Savannah mainly because it is a little more laid back.

I haven't really played cash that much but I did take an offer from one of my buddies to do some coaching sessions. I have played around 4100 hands @ 100nl since we started. We have done a few coaching/sweating sessions and I feel like I have already learned a good bit. So, I am improving for sure and plan on progressing over the next month or two. It is a nice change sometimes to play some cash sessions mainly because I have to think a lot more. It will also be much easier to play agaisnt alot of the players as I get more hands on them and learn how to exploit them.

Super Bowl Sunday Eve

Well, The first month of 09 has ended. Maybe we will get some snow this month in N. Georgia. We might get a few inches a year which is always nice to see. I am really looking forward to the Super Bowl tomorrow night. One of my good friends is throwing a big party which should be a blast. I didn't drink last night and probably wont drink tonight so I will be in full party mood come Sunday early afternoon. I like to bet on sports casually and will probably make a smallish wager on the Cards+7. I feel like there defense as of late is a little under rated and there offense is top notch right now. Pittsburgh's D is very solid and there offense is kinda hit or miss. I just think the game will be closer than the odd makers think. Who knows tho, really.

I had a really lame month for poker. I made over 3k the first couple days of the month, then made some more money that first week. Then ran awful for 500 games, It was just up and down swongs. It is disappointing to not get solid results out of a month long grind but I think to an extent it is standard.I expect some positive variance in the future because I sure feel like I am due for it.(even tho variance doesn't work like that) I was able to bring out my luck box again for the 30k Ironman monthly free roll and finished 2nd for $2700ish early in the month. So that was a nice bonus on the side which really kinda saved my month from being totally retarded. I also cleared the End of the year iron man bonus for $600 which is always a plus. Rake Back was also crucial this month.

I have starting to play some cash sometimes after the sng grind is over. I have been just playing 50NL for now in order to just get a good feel for it. I am probably playing to many tables since my intention is to learn. I feel pretty comfortable in the these games 12 tabling. So the plan is basically play a lot of hands and then evaluate my results. If I suck, then I am plan on getting one of my buddies who plays cash/mtt to help coach me through a couple sessions. And then eventually I will play a bunch of hands at 100nl and reevaluate again. I think that putting some effort into the cash games and learning will only make me a better poker player. I do plan on continuing to play sngs as long as they are beatable because for the most part I enjoy them.

We stayed at RIU Palace de Mexico(90% sure on name), there is like 5 RIU resorts within a mile that you can go use for free dining, drinking or anything else they offer. Very pleased with this one. Would probably go back to the same resort if I ever go back. Also, Playa is very cool little town that is probably 2 miles from where we stayed.

The Beaches where truly Amazing. I was standing at a bar when I took this picture. Once you get past the palms there is obv more beach area without the trees. You can see Cozumel about 7 miles directly across the ocean from the beach. If you go to playa you can catch a large water ferry that will take you to Cozumel. There are also RIU resorts there so if you are staying at one of them then everything will be free there as well.

At dinner after a long day of relaxing, drinking, and other things. Looks like I got sun burnt pretty bad. Each resort offers like 4 very nice restaurants. Each morning you pick out which one you like and make your reservations.

Year End Review + Goals

I had a great year in 2008. Sure, it could have been better but I am happy with everything and looking forward to 2009. I had a shitty month in December but that will happen every now and then. I got married in June which is huge and it seems all my friends are getting married and having kids left and right. We might considering having kids in the next year or so, time will tell.

In red below were my goals for 08:

1. Make 40k thousand this year playing poker. (this is the main goal, with bonuses)basically in order to do this avg $20/hour for 46 weeks(40hrs/wk) of the year plus bonuses and mtt wins.

I Achieved this Goal.

2. Double my average stake by the end the year. (avg stake right now is $22, like to get near $50 by end of year) Basically bankroll management will allow this.(not wasting money)

I also achieved this goal. Currently I am playing for jhub so I am playing around $100 avg. buyin. When I started playing for hub I had about a $5k Bankroll and I am continuing adding to that so when our staking agreement is up I should have $12-15k so I can continue to play the same stakes I have been playing.

3.Win 5 thousand dollars through multi table tourneys. we will see about this one. Have to look in to full tilts mtt .Might play the 180 mans on stars(i considered these mtt). or just playing in a couple of mtt/week.

I didn't play many mtt at all but I did have some good success in the few I played. I think I played about 15 mtt all year and Profited over $6,000. My biggest cash was 24th in ftops events 1 for around $4500 I believe. I was staked in that one so I gave a good portion back to my buddy who put me in.

4. Take playing poker more serious.(get up early and put in necessary time to reach goals and don't every tilt and leave money on the table.)

I achieved this goal. I have been getting up early and grinding my ass off for almost the whole year.

5.Try not to insult weaker players at the table. This is hard for me to do when i take a bad beat but i want my bankroll much deeper so i can move on and not let there stupidity affect my attitude or play.

I have made great strides with this goal. At one point during a terrible downswing I was embarrassed by my own chat to another player so I had full tilt temporary disable my chat for a while. Doing that helped me and now I keep a much calmer demeanor no matter how the cards fall. I do still get upset and yell cuss words so I need keep working in that area.

Some goals for 2009:

1. Make $75,ooo profit. I feel like this should be attainable and possibly even more.

2.Build my Bankroll over 20k.

3.I want to learn more forms of poker. This includes cash,mtt,and also different games besides NL. I think it can only help me become a more rounded and more profitable player. I hope that higher stake sngs wont become to hard to beat but I do want to learn more in case they do.

4. Get better, There is always room to improve. I have improved a ton with jhub's teaching and videos and plan on continuing to improve. Thank You to Jarred Hubbard. He is a great coach and a great person.

5. Get completely out of debt except for House Payment, I want to wipe the house out in the next 3-5 years. We have car payments and credit cards that we owe on, No need to keep paying interest to the bank when paying them off sooner is certainly achievable.

6. Play 17k sngs

Thats all I can think of right now. I will add a goal or two if they come to mind. Until Next time....

Novembers Over, Merry Christmas

Its a new month today so I thought I would update the blog. I have been slacken on it a bit because for the most part I want to make decent post and I haven't really been motivated to put any time into it. If you run across this blog and didn't see my last post then please check it out and do your part in protecting our rights as Americans.

November was an interesting poker month for me. I think i dropped like 17 buyins on the first day of the month which always sucks to start out like that but is also just one day and shouldn't be too concerning. The next 3 days I won around $5,000, then proceeded to lose back 3500 straight. Anyway I kept going up and down with profits and loses. Literally I would lose my ass or I would crush, it was just back and forth. I then had a sick downswing which lasted 400 games which was probably lasted 7-9 days of my month. I lost about 55 buy-ins during this strecth. I think that Swongs like these are the hardest thing about poker and many poker players can't handle them properly. Many good players will tilt, play to much, play higher, play scared, and play unfocused which is probably the downfall of many decent players. I saw a winning player today make three plays in 7 hands that were absurdly awful. Sure enough when I scoped him he was on a nice little downswing.

At the end of the downswing, I found myself down $1500-$2k in sngs for the month, 2/3 of the way through the month. One thing I will say is that after losing that much for an extended period of time I still knew I was playing good. I mean, I could sit there and play every day and watch the cards going against the odds over and over. When you get 2/3 outed on the bubble multiple times a day the equity I was losing was ading up quickly in front of my eyes. The only thing to do is play well and grind through it which I was eventually able to do. I ended up going on a nice little run for the last 10 days of the month and turn the month into a decent month. Check out all the swongs below. Nice heater on 30th imo.(click to enlarge)

I played a couple MTT tourneys this month and ran g00t. My buddy Nick staked me in FTOP event #1(iirc) which was a $216 buy-in. I went deep in this which was nice because I almost never play mtt's. I finished 28th/5124 entrys for $3800ish. It was a blast and I learned a ton by focusing on my table and observing betting patterns and bet sizes. I could see the final table but it wasn't meant to be as the eventual winner busted me. A few days later, I final tabled the monthly 30k ironman freeroll finishing 5th/453 for $1,100ish.

These mtt scores really helped me out at a good time because my wife is currently changing career paths. She is going back to school to get her masters and becoming a teacher so the next year or so there will be less money coming into the picture form her side. I am happy to pay more of the bills or do whatever I have to do in order for her to be happy and enjoy her job/career/life. There is nothing worse than doing a job you don't enjoy.

The Legondary Larry Munson

I love this time of the year, The weather is a nice cool temperature and I love the sporting events going on. NFL, College Football, Nascar is in its Chase and baseball is leading into the World Series. You cant beat it if you ask me. I am pleased with the Falcons at this point, I think Matt Ryan is doing a damn good job for a rookie. They got a long way to go though. Nothing is better than Georgia Football in my mind. They are about to be tested to the limits starting this week with LSU and then Florida. Its just so tough to go through the SEC. I still think they can make a run at the Championship this year. They just have to play there best and run the table. Coach Richt needs to light a fire under there ass. You can only bring out the Black Jerseys so many time before it becomes standard. He need to discipline the team more, They are shooting themselves in the foot with stupid penalitys. Of course we will have to go through Alabama again to win the SEC but I think its doable if they can make there. I really don't care that much about Nascar at this point because JR. can't win the Championship. I enjoy the sport but once he is out I don't really watch it. Although going to the Atlanta race this weekend is possible just for good times. I think the World Series will be OK although I probably won't watch much of it besides just checking scores, I'll probably watch any elimination game for sure. I like the Devil Rays because they are the Devil Rays. It's a good story, besides, I don't want to hear the Phllies fan braging about winning it next year as I am a huge Braves fan.

I went to Hockey Game Saturday night. It was my second Thrashers game. We had a blast because one of Jessica's(My Wife) friends had seats in a box suite. It was a great game going into overtime and then a shootout where we won 3-2 beating the Buffalo Sabres. It was amazing how many Buffalo fans were at the game. They were usually louder than the Atlanta fans. Atlanta has shitty Sport fans for some reason, not me though. Hopefully she can continue to get these tickets and keeps inviting us to the Thrasher and Hawk games.

Poker has went back into a good groove for me. I am having a solid month and not running like death anymore. I have been getting up pretty early, for this profession anyway , motivated to grind. Sometimes I don't get the number of games I really want in because the games run slow and regs are stupid sometimes and don't table select so occasionally I will unregister. I also load up $60's when this is happening because they are usually soft and probably more profitable than a tough $119. I had to take off early on Sat and didn't play at all on Sunday. My hand and fingers were starting to hurt bad. I am working on a few things with my setup in order to make everything more ergonomically sound. I ordered a Good ergonomical book and a new ergo rest to support my arm. Today I mostly played using my keyboard. I will probably try another mouse and get a Aeron chair soon. I have basically played in the same position for over a year and a half but I believe it has taking that time to injury myself. I'll figure it out though. Here is a pic of the ergo rest. I let you guys know if it is worth a shit when I get it.

<--- Hopefully Not Your Hero .. Well, We got Thunderstruck by Alabama last weekend in Athens. Ga just didn't come out ready to play in the first half and got embarrassed bad getting down 31-0. They played like they can in the second half and made the score some what respectable. After the game, I was really glad I didn't go down to Athens and pay close to $200 bucks for a ticket. I do think that if Ga is going to lose a game, then Alabama is a good team to lose to. I think we did get a little shafted in the polls again. I mean Florida and USC both loss to unranked teams and we lost to a top 6 team and dropped below USC. I guess USC always does do well in the Polls/Rankings. Oh well, At Least we made that Lady(above)is Happy. Here is a Funny sequence of hands that happened today. I am Pwning the bubble with an extreme shorty that is disconnected. The shorty was to my left and the middle stack on my right. Middle stack had around 2300 and shorty was blinding down under 500 @ 100/200. I knew Shorty was disconnected and so did middle stack. At one point, shorty in bb with 420ish, 200 in and I give him the walk. He said Some bad stuff after that and I loled. He was pretty rude so I guess Karma can be a bitch sometimes. My intention wasn't to make him get 3rd or anything. I was just grinding him down to a short stack in order to almost guarantee a first for myself.

I started off this month with a bang. I finished Out of the Money in my first 16 Sngs. Fun times there. Out of my last 14,000 games that has happened w orse one other time and it was for 20 games. 20 and 16 are the 2 longest OOTM runs in my poker Life AFAIK. I ran shitty last month but that is part of the grind. I will say that it is promising to run like death for that long a still make what most people consider decent money. I had a good day today making over $1500 in 55 sngs so that put me back in the postive for this month.

Here is a chart of 3200 games since July 1st. This excludes any bonuses I recieved. The last 1500 games were rough obv.It will come around though.

I updated my yearly totals the other day. I am up over 32k for the year so I should be reach my goal of 40k this year without too much of a problem. Good Talk

Ga # 3 in the country? WTF

Ga is going with the black jerseys this week vs the Crimson Tide for the third time ever. Last time was Sugar bowl vs Hawaii when they crushed the 7 point spread. Even UGA

It's been a while since I posted. It was a very very very rough stretch as far as poker goes. It was the biggest Downswing I have ever been on. When I made my last post I was one week into it, It went on for a full month, Yes, A fucking month! There were a few days in there where I would make $1000 or so but then run like complete shit for like 3 days after that. For people who don't play poker for a living, I can't even begin to explain the shit we sometimes go through. I felt like I was either the unluckiest player in the world, or that I was being cheated. Everyday I woke up thinking, today is going to be the day I turn this shit around. Only to find my self yelling profanity all day long. Getting 2/3 outed was standard, sets were no good, AA,KK,QQ almost never won,racing went very bad and I could hardly ever win as a slight dog. Don't get me wrong, sometime I would win, but most of the time variance was a dirty whore. I just ran bad for an extended amount of time. I was ill during this downswing and found myself making a few comments to fish who played so badly and kept luckboxxing me. I had Full Tilt take away my chat feature so I couldn't do that anymore. Sometimes now I just disable all chat, kinda sucks because sometimes ppl ask me questions that I would normally answer but now I can't. Anyway, I am not there to small talk, I am there to make money................End of rant

Ga had an impressive win against ASU this week. Naturally they should beat them but most capers were calling for a much closer game. Ga handled them 27-10 and clearly dominated the whole game. The SEC is so tough that it is going to be very tough to get through unscaved. Florida seems to be the biggest obstacle ahead but no doubt that this weekend is fkn huge. Alabama has looked very solid this year so this should be a huge test. I am really glad we got this one at home. I am tempted to going down to Athens and scalp a ticket for this one. I'll just have to see if any buddies are game to go with me. I loved seeing the Ohio State get there ass beat by USC last weekend. Ohio State has been way overrated for years and look like shit ever time they play a top 5 team. Also, It seems like there tons of Ohio state fans in this area so that may explain some of my hatred for them ..lol...

I don't like how we slipped down to number 3 obv. I will say that OU is looking good
and USC is looking great. I don't see why they give us the #1 ranking and then drop us out of the top 2 for winning. Coach Richt doesn't run up the score. We play tough, quick, strong SEC teams who can play with anybody on any given week and OU beats down sub-par teams and gets the bump almost immediately in the season.

Late Aug. Update

It's been a rough week for me as far as poker goes. I did have a little heater since the last post but the past 400 games or so have been a complete joke. I feel like I am playing at a high level but have just been very unlucky lately. Hopefully it will turn around and I can finish the month on a good note. Poker can be a very frustrating sometimes, I really wish I could not let the results affect my state of mind but I guess I am not at that point yet.

I installed Full Tilt Scripts created by Nanochip to ease some of the hand and finger pain I have been getting. It's a nice program that is pretty easy to use after you get it properly setup. I wish it wouldn't have came with a doomswitch but w/e. I also got a new mouse pad with the memory foam on it that your wrists lays on which is nice. My keyboard acts up from time to time so I added a wired(backup) key board to my system.

I made my first Fantasy football team this year and am pretty happy with my team. It's a $50 league that sttf guys on 2+2 organized. Pretty sure getting in that league was +ev but fantasy is kinda tough because you have to get hot at the end during the playoffs in order to win your league. You have to pick up some key ppl off free agent list or make a couple key trades.Here is my team:

I Need a day away from it and I got one of my good friends who paints a lot coming over and helping me re-paint the living room. When I went to Vegas In first week of Dec, My wife started painting it. When I got home it was half painted, so me and my other non painting buddy finished the first coat. Since then I have been putting off the second coat every couple weeks. My wife is not real happy about my laziness when it comes to painting that living room. So it needs to be done and my painting buddy friend will help me knock it out for some beers and a few twenties. After Painting, I am going to my cousin's husbands house for a live fantasy draft, beers and food. This is a hundred dollar keeper league that I am joining after somebody dropped out of it.I think the Bristol night Race is on too so that should be good times.

Today I got up early. I was playing by 7.30 am which is normally when I start hitting the snooze button a few times. I started off terrible and was down about $700 in the first hour or two. Things quickly turned around into my favor and it looked like I was going to make a decent profit for the day. I only 6 table so usually on a good day I will get in 50 games. At about 3.30 I had 50 games played and just over $1000 profit for the day. I considered going to pool and taking it easy the rest of the day but decided to continue playing until 5.00 and get some good volume in on the day. Fuck, Why didn't I just go the pool? I think I blanked 12 straight sng's and lost about $860 in that time period. So that was a nice tease today.

I haven't posted in a long time. I am on track for all my yearly goals except the 5k mtt goal but that really doesn't matter. The only thing that really matters is to be satisfied and happy. I received a staking deal for one year in late May/early March. I didn't expect to be selected for the Staking arrangement but i figured putting in an application couldn't hurt. Accepting the agreement was an easy decision for me. With the staking arrangement I am receiving extensive coaching from basically the worlds best 6 max player which is the exact game I have been playing and studying for a couple years. I figure that I can make at least what I was expecting to make over the year and that the coaching would be priceless. We started on July 1st and the first month went well. Hopefully I can continue to improve and move up in the rankings. Only time will tell.....

Goals for 2008

Happy new year ...I woke up and lost yesterday but bounced back today (1st).Hopefully GA kicks Hawaii's ass tonight. I think they will even though the general public seems to like Hawaii. Anyway, i haven't put as much thought to my goals as i should have.

1. Make 40k thousand this year playing poker. (this is the main goal, with bonuses)basically in order to do this avg $20/hour for 46 weeks(40hrs/wk) of the year plus bonuses and mtt wins.

2. Double my average stake by the end the year. (avg stake right now is $22, like to get near $50 by end of year) Basically bankroll management will allow this.(not wasting money)

3.Win 5 thousand dollars through multi table tourneys. we will see about this one. Have to look in to full tilts mtt .Might play the 180 mans on stars(i considered these mtt). or just playing in a couple of mtt/week.

4. Take playing poker more serious.(get up early and put in necessary time to reach goals and don't every tilt and leave money on the table.)

5.Try not to insult weaker players at the table. This is hard for me to do when i take a bad beat but i want my bankroll much deeper so i can move on and not let there stupidity affect my attitude or play.

Turning things around

I have finally started to turn things around. I have been playing for a job for about four months and have endured my share of bad luck or variance. Although i am still up over 6 grand over that time. About 2.5 Weeks ago I went through my worst downswing ever. Which was horrible timing after being on vacation for 6 days. I ran awful for about 8-9 Days losing over $1000. At the same time all the bills were due. Anyway I have won 8 of my 9 last days. I studied my hand histories and dug deep to find problems. This downswing has probably improved my game a little. During that downswing i suffered a lot of variance. My money was in with the best over 75% of the time. They just wouldn't hold up. I have also lowered my buy-ins some since then in order to take better care of my bankroll. I Usually play only 6 man max sng's. I have played around 4000 of these since joining pokerstars. I play 4-6 Tables and usually around 30-50 sng's a day. Lately i have either been 6 tabling $13 turbos or 4-6 tabling $25 turbos.

Ok Since Aug 7th. here are my stats:

277 sngs played, Roi 13.9%, Profit $831.50, 38.8 hours played, $21.42/hour

Now these are the about what i expect of myself, even though 277 is a very low sample size.
I will try to update my stats in a daily form if i can stay up with this blog. Later
